Tyranny of Dragons
Neverwinter, also known as the City of Skilled Hands or the Jewel of the North is a large city in the North Sword Coast region. It has a population of about 20,000 with mostly humans but with a smaller mix of other races.
It has often been regarded as the most cosmopolitan and civilized city in all of Faerun. Its artisans and craftsmen are quite renowned.
Neverwinter is so named because of the supernaturally heated Neverwinter River that flows from Mount Hotenow and through the city, keeping it warm. In addition to having an unnaturally warm climate, Neverwinter is a picturesque city and boasts such sights as its three spectacular, intricately carved bridges: the Dolphin, the Winged Wyvern and the Sleeping Dragon. Under these, the waters of the Neverwinter River cascade over small, gentle waterfalls as they course into the city’s bustling harbour.
The city was partially destroyed several decades ago when Mount Hotenow erupted. Dagult Neverember, Lord Protector of Nevewinter, has been working tirelessly to rebuild the city and restore it to its former glory.
